Breaking Dawn....Twilight Book 4

OMG! This book is so fast paced, I can hardly keep up!

This book is 754 pages long, and is the last book in the Twilight Series. I want so much to make it last, but I am flying right thru it! There is so much going on in this book, that you keep turning the pages, no matter how late, or what has to be done, or who is waiting....etc.

I for the life of me, don't know what I am going to read when I am finished with this..... I have gotten so involved with this series, that I am obsessed. Never before, has a book or books been this good, and held my attention as strong as this one has. I have read thousands of books, as I am an avid reader, but once I started Twilight, there was no stopping me. I have never been this absorbed in a story before.......

And to think, Stephenie Meyer wrote this for teens.....HUH! From the very first book, you are hooked, and want to read more, more, more. There is nothing teenish about it in my opinion, except for the fact that it is a watered down romance. But when has that hurt anything? If you have a good imagination, and I can imagine all kinds of things going on, that aren't stated in black and white.

Anyway, I am away from the computer, and reading, as usual.....

Till next time,
Take care,

A Hunny and My Boy for Christmas!

Wow! I had a really nice Christmas this year, and to top it off, I got to spend the morning with my Honey, Steve before he had to go to work. Kinda sucked that he had to work at 2pm on Christmas Day, but at least we had all morning with my daughter and grandson!

Here we are in all our Christmas glory.....LOL!
We really got into the Christmas spirit this year, and I think this is the first year in a long time that Steve has spent actual Christmas day with someone other than his dog, Sloppy. He had been alone for such a long time before we got together, and this is our first Christmas together, so I think it was special for him, as it was for me! He loves my family as much as I do, and he has taken them on with no qualms, or hesitation, and I love him for that! He wanted to make sure that my grandson Marcus had the best year ever, and you could see the light in his eyes as Marcus was opening his presents.

I guess it has been a long time since he watched a Child open presents with the excitement and anticipation that only a child has on Christmas morning! I did feel bad for him, though, because the poor guy was soooo sick! He felt miserable with a cold and stuffy head, and runny nose, but he didn't let that stop his holiday spirit!!! I give him tons of credit!!

Ohhh! And he got me the 4th book in the Twilight series....Breaking Dawn!
Yipeee! I am so excited. I can't wait to read it! And he also got me a really nice warm and soft Red Sox blanket, knowing first of all, how very cold I am all the time, and second, how much I love the Red Sox!! Great presents from my sweetie!

Here is a picture of me and my grandson Marcus, when he had opened all his presents, and just wanted to play, and Grammy kept insisting on a "nice Christmas photo", he had just about had it by then with all the photos anyway, and you can see by his face, he is not happy about sitting still for yet another photo!!! LOL

Oh, well, this is my Christmas shot for this year?
Maybe next year, I should try to get that elusive photo before he opens anything????

I wanted to thank all my friends and readers out there who stopped by, and who also left me Holiday wishes!! The same to all of you!

Till next time,
Take care,

Into Book # 3, Eclipse

Okay, so this book, is so much better than book #2, and I am whipping right thru it!! I love it!

After reading New Moon, and being all sad and mad and wondering why all this was happening....I am happy to say that Eclipse picks up the pace, and holds on so tight, it doesn't let go! You are very happy to go along for the ride here!

I am almost done with this book already, even though it is over 500 pages!! Like I said, when a story grabs you this much, you just read, read, read!

I can't wait to get to book #4 now, I am reading as fast as I can, just so I can find out what happens.

Till Next time,

Take Care,

Kat :)

New Moon ~ Twilight Book 2

Okay, so I have now finished reading book #2, New Moon in the Stephenie Meyer Twilight saga, and I have already started book #3, Eclipse! I'm telling you, once you get through one, you "HAVE" to have the other one ready, or you will be going through some kind of just have to know what happens!

New_MoonThis book was different from the first book, and I don't want to give too much away, but I will tell you that I cried, literally cried, at the beginning of this book! I found myself yelling at Bella, and wondering why she was making the choices she made....and I know, it's only a book....but like I said before, I can get completely lost in these books. The way Stephenie writes, you feel like you could actually be there. She is so very descriptive in her words and it draws you in and doesn't want to let you go!

I also found this book not to be as fast paced as Twilight, but it filled in a lot of gaps, and progressed the story, so I guess it was necessary. When I got by the end, the excitement came back, and I sped through the pages, wanting, waiting, hoping...... and then like I said, I had to have book 3. I don't know what's going to happen, but I can't wait!

Here is my favorite vampire, with Bella, and some of his family. I actually like this picture and wanted it in my post.

twilight1This is one of the movie posters for the "Twilight" movie, and I love the amber color of Edward's eyes! I think you can click on the picture to get it in full size? I don't think you can read the writing on Edward's coat, but it says:
"When you can live forever....What do you live for" ?

twilightNow, I know there are lots of groups and discussions about Team Edward and Team Jacob.....and I have to tell you, the majority of us older readers will go with Edward every time! There is just something so romantic about him, and we have had a lot more experience than the teens, or tweens, and so the logical choice is Edward. The younger set seems to go for Jacob, although, I don't understand it?
Any ideas?

Well, off to read some more of Eclipse.........till next time........
Take care,
Kat :)

Blog Love~....

I got this "Stunning" award from Sandee over at Comedy Plus....and I think this is my favorite award, ever! Blog_LoveI really love all the components of the award picture, and the meaning behind it is something that is dear to my heart and I will treasure this award! To have your writing and your posts reach other people is one of the greatest feelings I could ever have. It's time to pass along the award, claim it if you want it! Your blogs are all special to me! And I want to say a BIG Thank You~!

Twilight Equals Addiction!

Now, I have to admit that this series is not for everyone...
But I am obviously lacking some serious romance in my life, if I can fall so deeply into this story and become hopelessly addicted!!
twilight_book_coverThis is the first book in Stephenie Meyer's 4 book series, and I heard about it from my very good friend Ellen after she had read it and raved about it. Now, I had seen the trailers for the movie, but it didn't quite grab me the way that Ellen's descriptions did! I asked her if I could read it, and she brought the first book in the series in on a Friday.

Needless to say, once I started it, I didn't want to put it down! I was drawn in almost immediately and hungered for more (no pun intended, lol).

I finished that 500 page book that weekend (in 2 days) and wanted to read the 2nd one right away! I wanted to know what happened? I couldn't wait for Ellen to bring me the other book!

Now, for those of you that are new to the series, the first book starts out with a 17 year old girl named Isabella (Bella) Swan, moving to a small town near Seattle ,WA, called Forks. She is shy and doesn't really fit in anywhere, but notices a very different family, and instantly is intrigued by one of the brothers ~ Edward Cullen. It turns out that Edward and his family are vampires, but not your average run of the mill vampires, or the ones from all the old folklore stories or movies....NO, these are very different.
At first all Edward can think about is killing Bella, but as time goes on, he controls himself and they fall in love. Now this isn't the rosy story of first love, this is full of temptation and control, desire and romance. There is so much emotion in this book, that you can actually feel the torturous pain and internal struggle that Edward is going through, just to be with Bella. He is very torn as to what is right and wrong, and he struggles indefinately with emotions that he has never felt before. But some of the things he says to Bella are priceless! He is a true romantic.

Anyway, below is Edward, and I can tell you, he can bite me anytime!

Now I know I am older than the target range that these books were written for, but I don't care, It is a great story, and it is written very well. Every girl wants the romance, and would love to have someone tell them the things that Edward says to Bella. He is like a modern day Romeo, only better.

And I have met soo many people who are my age and are hooked on these books too! It's not a typical vampire is a love story, with obstacles. It is written from Bella's point of view, so we really don't know what Edward is thinking or doing when he is not with Bella.

The author, Stephenie Meyer was starting to write a book called "Midnight Sun" and it was the same story as Twilight, but told from Edward's perspective. But I read on her website, that someone leaked some chapters from a rough draft and now she has stopped writing it. It is supposedly on hold indeffinately!! I went to the website Save Midnight Sun
and entered the site, and then signed the petition, so hopefully, she will finish the book. I loved hearing the story from Edward, you actually get so much more out of it because you know exactly what he was thinking, and what he was feeling, and you ache when you know how hard it was for him. She actually makes you feel, if you get into the book enough. That is probably what drew me in, that this book captured my heart and I could feel the tension between them. I could sympathize with Bella when she thinks that Edward doesn't like her, and all he's thinking is that he has to get away from her, or he will kill her, his animalistic instincts around her are "that strong"!

If you have not started reading this yet, I highly recommend it!!
Any other Twilight fans out there??? :)

Help to Feed Thousands of Strays with a Click!

Meet the ASPCA Kid of the Year!

I just read the most amazing story in People Magazine. It was about this little girl, Mimi Ausland, who is 12 years old!
I can't believe it takes the little people to make the world a better place for animals. Earlier this year, Mimi Ausland of Bend, OR, decided to make a real difference in the lives of homeless animals. After months of research and planning, Mimi launched to provide healthy pet food to cats and dogs in area shelters.

Freekibble is an interactive site that asks visitors to answer a brief trivia question about animals. For every answer—right or wrong—the site donates ten pieces of kibble to shelter dogs. It was recently joined by, a site that posts feline-themed questions to benefit homeless cats. Since April 1, 2008, Mimi and the site’s sponsors—including Castor & Pollux, which donates pet food—have provided more than 51 million pieces of kibble to 11 shelters.

Late last month, Mimi and her family traveled to New York City to attend the ASPCA Humane Awards luncheon, where this special girl received the ASPCA Tommy Monahan Kid of the Year award for her hard work and dedication.
“It was such an amazing experience from start to finish,” Mimi reports. “The ASPCA is one of the biggest animal welfare organizations, and they take such good care of their animals. I was so happy when I knew I would be getting an award from them!”
Presented annually to exceptional pets and people who make a difference in the lives of animals, the ASPCA Humane Awards Program honors the special bond between humans and companion animals. Mimi joined seven other honorees at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center on October 30 to receive her award.

She adds, “That’s why I love doing freekibble. Even though it might not get animals adopted—although it has happened before—it gives them healthy, natural food and helps make them happy.”
Let's all help her feed the hungry and homeless pets in shelters!! Please click and help!!

My Big Craft Show...

Well everyone, my big craft show is here today and tomorrow. I went Friday night to partially set up for the show, and today was the first day of the show.

Lots of lookers, but not alot of buyers out and about! I hope tomorrow is a better day! I did sell some candles and some jewelry, but there are so many jewelry sellers there this year, that my odds have been greatly reduced! Almost every other table is selling jewelry, whereas last year there were maybe 10 of us selling jewelry. Now the ratio is more than half of the sellers! That really stinks. And this year, they put another jewelry selling table right next to mine!! That isn't how it is supposed to be! You are supposed to space them out.

Anyway, I will let you all know how tomorrow goes.....wish me luck!!!

My Blog is Loved! Woo Hoo

I was so excited to get this award! I can't believe it.... This is the award of all awards folks!

Oh yes, other awards are very nice, don't get me wrong..... but this is the icing on the cake for me! I have secretly yearned for this award since I started blogging, and now the day is finally here, when I can say that I received this wonderful award from someone who loves my blog. The award is great, mind you, but the meaning behind it is sooo much more.

A GIGANTIC thanks goes to one of my favorite people, Janet of Dolly's Daily Diary, she is not only a wonderful friend, but a great writer! If you haven't checked out her blog yet, don't here.

She just redid the whole layout of her blog, with the help of Chica and Pumuckl Blogger Designs, and it looks so nice and pretty now.

Janet has also started selling Avon and I just placed my first order. If you want to place your order for Avon products, please click here. What wonderful gifts they have for the holidays!!

Anyway, I will nominate other blogs shortly by adding to this post. But right now, I have to get ready for the holiday and my craft show.

Take care, and hugzzzz to you all!

Saturday, My Grandson and the Birthday Party~

This is how I spent my Saturday folks.......... Taking my grandson Marcus to a birthday party that had a reptile show! Now, for him, this was the "best birthday party ever!", but for me, not so much fun!!

Marcus_and_snakeThis is Marcus with a blueish snake, I forget the name of it, but I'm sure if he was here right now, he would be able to tell me what it was!! He was so very proud to hold that nasty snake, and right up by his face too! Uckkkkk!

Marcus_and_Albino_PythonThis is him holding the albino python (I bet your surprized that I remembered that one, huh?) Now this one was a little bigger and started to wriggle around a bit, so he had to have the guy (Frank) take him.

Marcus_and_Blue_Tongue_LizardHere Marcus is holding the Blue Tongued Lizard. Now, Frank told us they bite, but Marcus and all the other boys at the party didn't care! I quickly took this picture and then told him to let someone else have a turn at holding it!! I was nervous!

snakeAnd finally, here is some snake, I fail to remember it's name, because as you can see, he is lunging off the table, right at my leg!! OMG!! He came within an inch of me, and I couldn't back up because I was right against a counter, and for the life of me....I don't know how I even got this shot? Frank thought it was funny, and so did Marcus! Me, I almost wet my pants!!! LOL

So, this is how I spent my Saturday afternoon......I can't believe that I agreed to take him to this party when my daughter couldn't. But if you have grandchildren, you know that pretty much anything they "really, really" somehow have to do it. Call me crazy!!!!

Lemonade AwardWow, I can't believe it! I am really grateful to Janet over at Dolly's Daily Diary for considering my blog worthy of an award! Her blog is SO inspiring, and she has a joke of the day that always gets me smiling too! I don't know where she finds the wonderful artwork she has on her site, but it is absolutely gorgeous! The angels are heavenly! So, thank you again, Janet, for the award, for being a friend, and for the daily inspiration that you give to me and so many others on a daily basis.

Now, let's look at the award....hmmmm, and this is all said in jest....does it mean that my blog is sour? Or you make a screwed up face when you read it? Or that my blog is worth 50 cents? Or maybe, that I should give up blogging and sell lemonade on the side of the road?? LOL
I'm only kidding, and I LOVE my award, whatever the reason is behind it!!

I am so grateful for any award. It really makes me think that I must be doing something right, and that people read my blog! I truly appreciate the acknowledgement. Some New Jewelry I have Made~!

Pink_Heart_NecklaceI have been working really hard for weeks now, trying to make a bunch of new items for the big craft show that I do every year the weekend after Thanksgiving. These are some of the items I have made lately....
The first necklace is a very pretty one, with pink and clear glass hearts.
I loved making this is so girly!

The second necklace here, didn't photograph all that well, but it is

a very nice necklace made up of black and gold designed hearts, that surprisingly are very lightweight! It looks gorgeous on, and against a solid background. I think the black diamond shaped spacer beads really add to the design also.

The third necklace is beautiful in person, again, it
didn't photgraph well at all! The white glass beads in this necklace are very similar to Opals, in that they have a "fire" in them that comes out when the light hits them. You can see the oranges, yellows, greens and lavenders whenever these beads are turned. They are stunning! I wish I could remember where I got them, so I could go
and get some more!!! :)
I also put glass crackled orange beads in between as spacers, so that it would bring out the fire in the whitish beads.

This next necklace is made of fire red glass beads that are lined with silRed_Glass_Beads_Necklacever. They look so nice in person. They are also heavy. This is a solid necklace, no doubt about it. I have spaced this necklace with black and red beads that compliment the big red glass beads.

This next one is one of my favorites....I have a thing about green, even though red is my favorite color! For some reason, I love green beads, and these were Green_Beads_Necklace wonderful!! They have a yellowish hue to them that is kind of irridescent, so the beads change as they shift. It looked kind of gaudy with yellow or green spacer beads, so I chose to space this necklace with some nice black beads. I think it compliments the beads nicely.

Charm_BraceletsThe last picture that I am showing is of some of the charm bracelets that I have been working on..... I have regular charm bracelets, along with Christmas charm bracelets. I try to add something new to them, so each person has their own unique charm bracelet. No two are alike.

So there you have it!! This is what has been keeping me busy lately. I really enjoy making jewelry and hope you have enjoyed looking........

A Dog Lover's Story

Jack_Russell_Terrier Lucky Dog....
Anyone who has pets will really like this. You'll like it even if you don't have a pet!
Mary and her husband Jim had a dog named 'Lucky.' Lucky was a real character. Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy. Inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing. Mary or Jim would go to Lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of Lucky's other favorite toys. Lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box.

It happened that Mary found out she had breast cancer. Something told her she was going to die of this disease . . . in fact, she was just sure it was fatal. She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders. The night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with Lucky. A thought struck her . . . what would happen to Lucky? Although the three-year-old dog liked Jim, he was Mary's dog through and through. If I die, Lucky will feel abandoned, Mary thought. He won't understand that I didn't want to leave him. The thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death.
The double mastectomy was harder on Mary than her doctors had anticipated and Mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. Jim took Lucky for his evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining and miserable.
Finally the day came for Mary to leave the hospital. When she arrived home, Mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom. Jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap. Lucky stood watching Mary but he didn't come to her when she called. It made Mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed.
When Mary woke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong. She couldn't move her head and her body felt heavy and hot. But panic soon gave way to laughter when Mary realized the problem. She was covered, literally blanketed, with every treasure Lucky owned!
While she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life. He had covered her with his love.
Mary forgot about dying. Instead she and Lucky began living again, walking further and further together every day.
It's been 12 years now and Mary is still cancer-free.
Lucky? He still steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but Mary remains his greatest treasure.
Remember . . . live every day to the fullest. Each minute is a blessing from God.
And never forget . .. . the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care for us.
If you see someone without a smile today give them one of yours!
Live simply. Love seriously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
(I received this in an email today, and can't properly give credit to the author of "Lucky", but I want to say my thank you now.... It touched me deeply)

A Medusa for Halloween?

This is my daughter all dressed up for Halloween!
She wanted to dress up as "Medusa" with the snakes and everything, but wasn't quite sure how she was going to do it?

So me being the "crafty Mom" that I am, suggested how we could fix her hair to look like snakes. I got one of those wire headbands, and attached wire armatures to it and told her to wrap her hair around the wire and then attach with bobbie pins! Then she could bend the "snakes" into any shape she wanted to.
Isn't that clever?

She was a hit at her work, and also when she went out trick or treating with my grandson! This is their favorite holiday, and they always go all out, not only with the costumes, but with the decorating of their yard and house too! She embelished her black gown with a Snake necklace and snake bracelet, and also made up some pretty cool snake earrings too!
I thought we did a really good job!
