Breaking Dawn....Twilight Book 4

OMG! This book is so fast paced, I can hardly keep up!

This book is 754 pages long, and is the last book in the Twilight Series. I want so much to make it last, but I am flying right thru it! There is so much going on in this book, that you keep turning the pages, no matter how late, or what has to be done, or who is waiting....etc.

I for the life of me, don't know what I am going to read when I am finished with this..... I have gotten so involved with this series, that I am obsessed. Never before, has a book or books been this good, and held my attention as strong as this one has. I have read thousands of books, as I am an avid reader, but once I started Twilight, there was no stopping me. I have never been this absorbed in a story before.......

And to think, Stephenie Meyer wrote this for teens.....HUH! From the very first book, you are hooked, and want to read more, more, more. There is nothing teenish about it in my opinion, except for the fact that it is a watered down romance. But when has that hurt anything? If you have a good imagination, and I can imagine all kinds of things going on, that aren't stated in black and white.

Anyway, I am away from the computer, and reading, as usual.....

Till next time,
Take care,

A Hunny and My Boy for Christmas!

Wow! I had a really nice Christmas this year, and to top it off, I got to spend the morning with my Honey, Steve before he had to go to work. Kinda sucked that he had to work at 2pm on Christmas Day, but at least we had all morning with my daughter and grandson!

Here we are in all our Christmas glory.....LOL!
We really got into the Christmas spirit this year, and I think this is the first year in a long time that Steve has spent actual Christmas day with someone other than his dog, Sloppy. He had been alone for such a long time before we got together, and this is our first Christmas together, so I think it was special for him, as it was for me! He loves my family as much as I do, and he has taken them on with no qualms, or hesitation, and I love him for that! He wanted to make sure that my grandson Marcus had the best year ever, and you could see the light in his eyes as Marcus was opening his presents.

I guess it has been a long time since he watched a Child open presents with the excitement and anticipation that only a child has on Christmas morning! I did feel bad for him, though, because the poor guy was soooo sick! He felt miserable with a cold and stuffy head, and runny nose, but he didn't let that stop his holiday spirit!!! I give him tons of credit!!

Ohhh! And he got me the 4th book in the Twilight series....Breaking Dawn!
Yipeee! I am so excited. I can't wait to read it! And he also got me a really nice warm and soft Red Sox blanket, knowing first of all, how very cold I am all the time, and second, how much I love the Red Sox!! Great presents from my sweetie!

Here is a picture of me and my grandson Marcus, when he had opened all his presents, and just wanted to play, and Grammy kept insisting on a "nice Christmas photo", he had just about had it by then with all the photos anyway, and you can see by his face, he is not happy about sitting still for yet another photo!!! LOL

Oh, well, this is my Christmas shot for this year?
Maybe next year, I should try to get that elusive photo before he opens anything????

I wanted to thank all my friends and readers out there who stopped by, and who also left me Holiday wishes!! The same to all of you!

Till next time,
Take care,

Into Book # 3, Eclipse

Okay, so this book, is so much better than book #2, and I am whipping right thru it!! I love it!

After reading New Moon, and being all sad and mad and wondering why all this was happening....I am happy to say that Eclipse picks up the pace, and holds on so tight, it doesn't let go! You are very happy to go along for the ride here!

I am almost done with this book already, even though it is over 500 pages!! Like I said, when a story grabs you this much, you just read, read, read!

I can't wait to get to book #4 now, I am reading as fast as I can, just so I can find out what happens.

Till Next time,

Kat :)

New Moon ~ Twilight Book 2

Okay, so I have now finished reading book #2, New Moon in the Stephenie Meyer Twilight saga, and I have already started book #3, Eclipse! I'm telling you, once you get through one, you "HAVE" to have the other one ready, or you will be going through some kind of just have to know what happens!

New_MoonThis book was different from the first book, and I don't want to give too much away, but I will tell you that I cried, literally cried, at the beginning of this book! I found myself yelling at Bella, and wondering why she was making the choices she made....and I know, it's only a book....but like I said before, I can get completely lost in these books. The way Stephenie writes, you feel like you could actually be there. She is so very descriptive in her words and it draws you in and doesn't want to let you go!

I also found this book not to be as fast paced as Twilight, but it filled in a lot of gaps, and progressed the story, so I guess it was necessary. When I got by the end, the excitement came back, and I sped through the pages, wanting, waiting, hoping...... and then like I said, I had to have book 3. I don't know what's going to happen, but I can't wait!

Here is my favorite vampire, with Bella, and some of his family. I actually like this picture and wanted it in my post.

twilight1This is one of the movie posters for the "Twilight" movie, and I love the amber color of Edward's eyes! I think you can click on the picture to get it in full size? I don't think you can read the writing on Edward's coat, but it says:
"When you can live forever....What do you live for" ?

twilightNow, I know there are lots of groups and discussions about Team Edward and Team Jacob.....and I have to tell you, the majority of us older readers will go with Edward every time! There is just something so romantic about him, and we have had a lot more experience than the teens, or tweens, and so the logical choice is Edward. The younger set seems to go for Jacob, although, I don't understand it?
Any ideas?

Well, off to read some more of Eclipse.........till next time........
Take care,
Kat :)

Twilight Equals Addiction!

Now, I have to admit that this series is not for everyone...
But I am obviously lacking some serious romance in my life, if I can fall so deeply into this story and become hopelessly addicted!!
twilight_book_coverThis is the first book in Stephenie Meyer's 4 book series, and I heard about it from my very good friend Ellen after she had read it and raved about it. Now, I had seen the trailers for the movie, but it didn't quite grab me the way that Ellen's descriptions did! I asked her if I could read it, and she brought the first book in the series in on a Friday.

Needless to say, once I started it, I didn't want to put it down! I was drawn in almost immediately and hungered for more (no pun intended, lol).

I finished that 500 page book that weekend (in 2 days) and wanted to read the 2nd one right away! I wanted to know what happened? I couldn't wait for Ellen to bring me the other book!

Now, for those of you that are new to the series, the first book starts out with a 17 year old girl named Isabella (Bella) Swan, moving to a small town near Seattle ,WA, called Forks. She is shy and doesn't really fit in anywhere, but notices a very different family, and instantly is intrigued by one of the brothers ~ Edward Cullen. It turns out that Edward and his family are vampires, but not your average run of the mill vampires, or the ones from all the old folklore stories or movies....NO, these are very different.
At first all Edward can think about is killing Bella, but as time goes on, he controls himself and they fall in love. Now this isn't the rosy story of first love, this is full of temptation and control, desire and romance. There is so much emotion in this book, that you can actually feel the torturous pain and internal struggle that Edward is going through, just to be with Bella. He is very torn as to what is right and wrong, and he struggles indefinately with emotions that he has never felt before. But some of the things he says to Bella are priceless! He is a true romantic.

Anyway, below is Edward, and I can tell you, he can bite me anytime!

Now I know I am older than the target range that these books were written for, but I don't care, It is a great story, and it is written very well. Every girl wants the romance, and would love to have someone tell them the things that Edward says to Bella. He is like a modern day Romeo, only better.

And I have met soo many people who are my age and are hooked on these books too! It's not a typical vampire is a love story, with obstacles. It is written from Bella's point of view, so we really don't know what Edward is thinking or doing when he is not with Bella.

The author, Stephenie Meyer was starting to write a book called "Midnight Sun" and it was the same story as Twilight, but told from Edward's perspective. But I read on her website, that someone leaked some chapters from a rough draft and now she has stopped writing it. It is supposedly on hold indeffinately!! I went to the website Save Midnight Sun
and entered the site, and then signed the petition, so hopefully, she will finish the book. I loved hearing the story from Edward, you actually get so much more out of it because you know exactly what he was thinking, and what he was feeling, and you ache when you know how hard it was for him. She actually makes you feel, if you get into the book enough. That is probably what drew me in, that this book captured my heart and I could feel the tension between them. I could sympathize with Bella when she thinks that Edward doesn't like her, and all he's thinking is that he has to get away from her, or he will kill her, his animalistic instincts around her are "that strong"!

If you have not started reading this yet, I highly recommend it!!
Any other Twilight fans out there??? :)

Help to Feed Thousands of Strays with a Click!

Meet the ASPCA Kid of the Year!

I just read the most amazing story in People Magazine. It was about this little girl, Mimi Ausland, who is 12 years old!
I can't believe it takes the little people to make the world a better place for animals. Earlier this year, Mimi Ausland of Bend, OR, decided to make a real difference in the lives of homeless animals. After months of research and planning, Mimi launched to provide healthy pet food to cats and dogs in area shelters.

Freekibble is an interactive site that asks visitors to answer a brief trivia question about animals. For every answer—right or wrong—the site donates ten pieces of kibble to shelter dogs. It was recently joined by, a site that posts feline-themed questions to benefit homeless cats. Since April 1, 2008, Mimi and the site’s sponsors—including Castor & Pollux, which donates pet food—have provided more than 51 million pieces of kibble to 11 shelters.

Late last month, Mimi and her family traveled to New York City to attend the ASPCA Humane Awards luncheon, where this special girl received the ASPCA Tommy Monahan Kid of the Year award for her hard work and dedication.
“It was such an amazing experience from start to finish,” Mimi reports. “The ASPCA is one of the biggest animal welfare organizations, and they take such good care of their animals. I was so happy when I knew I would be getting an award from them!”
Presented annually to exceptional pets and people who make a difference in the lives of animals, the ASPCA Humane Awards Program honors the special bond between humans and companion animals. Mimi joined seven other honorees at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center on October 30 to receive her award.

She adds, “That’s why I love doing freekibble. Even though it might not get animals adopted—although it has happened before—it gives them healthy, natural food and helps make them happy.”
Let's all help her feed the hungry and homeless pets in shelters!! Please click and help!!
