More Twilight Jewelry in the Making...

Okay, so I am making Twilight Jewelry like crazy, and I am going to show you some of the unfinished pieces that I still have to complete....

The picture below shows some of the polymer clay pendants after I have measured, cut and baked them. You bake them in the oven for 10-15 minutes on 275 degrees. They are waiting for the images and the gloss and then the chains.

This next picture shows you 3 of the pendants that I made the other night and they are waiting to be glossed and finished off with a chain and clasp.

LOL, does it look like I'm behind in my finishing??? Yup, I have more fun in the creating part of this, than I do in the finishing part!

The next step after I finish them, is the dreaded picture taking, and then listing them all.....ughhhh , not really looking forward to that part!!!

But hopefully, I'll get a fire lit under me, and get my butt in gear and have them done this weekend?

Marie Antoinette Award...For Me!?!

I just received the most wonderful award from Willa over at Fickle Minded, A Life that is Less Ordinary.....And Loving Every Minute of It!

My award is the "Marie Antoinette Award" and isn't a beauty??
I have never seen this award, and I think it is a really nice one.

Now, I am not sure what this award is given out for, but I am very greatful just the same!!!
But....wasn't Marie Antoinette the one that got her head chopped off??? Or was she the one who said "Let them eat Cake!" ??? Or was she both?? I like cake, (chocolate cake with white frosting is my fave!) and want to eat some now, but I like my head too, and would really, really like to keep it!

I'll accept the award, under these conditions....

I can eat all the cake I want
I can have Chocolate cake
I don't have to dress in those clothes
I get to keep my head on my shoulders!

There, That should do it!! I got an award, and cake, and am keeping my head!

Gordon is Back...And I'm Glad!!

The New Season Of Hell's Kitchen started last night, and am I glad!

Finally Gordon Ramsey has returned for another season (the 5th!) of Hell's Kitchen, and I just love watching this show, and Gordon, of Course!!

16 chefs will try their luck in his Kitchen, to win his attention, and win a job as the Head Chef in a top restaurant, all the while trying to avoid Ramsey's acid tongue lashings and insults that he just loves to inflict!!!
The chefs this season all come from various backgrounds, including big name restaurants and food courts.....
Some are self taught and one went to a cooking school in Italy! The cooking experience is also varied, some have little experience, and some have lots. (Remember it was a Nanny who won last season?)

Now, as some of you know who follow my blog, I mentioned I had a crush on Gordon Ramsey in a meme I did once, and let me tell you, it hasn't changed! There is just something about him!! Now, I would NEVER ever work for him...He seems like an ass, and is cocky and stuff....but there is something about him that I just like. Plus, I wouldn't want to get yelled at every day. No thanks, I get that in my job anyway, just not with the British accent!!! lol

Now Last night's show was wicked and fantastic!! It was full of surprises and heat (and I'm not just saying because of the stoves....)!
I won't tell you who was sent home, but you should go check it out for yourself!
Hell's Kitchen can be seen on the Fox Network at 9 pm (at least here in my area), and I will be watching or taping with the DVR every week!!

What can I say?? I am hopelessly addicted!!
But it is wicked, guilty fun.....and who doesn't need that??

My Space and Old Friends~!

I had been trying to re-locate some old friends that I had lost touch with, and this weekend, it hit me like a ton of bricks......"try My Space" ~!

So I did, I went over and signed up, (you can view my profile here) and sure enough....I Found Heather!! I was so excited!!

Now, I don't know anything about my space, so my page is looking pretty sad right now, and I don't really know how to do anything or add anything, so I am lost where that is concerned....but I did send an email to Heather and she emailed me back, and then we exchanged phone #'s and I called immediately!!

Wow, it was sooooo good to hear her voice, and to laugh with her again!! We tried to catch up on the current news, but you can only fit so much into one phone call. But I found her!! So, we will have many more conversations, I just know it!!!

And from talking with Heather, I got her Grandmother Ellen's phone number and I talked with her for ages yesterday!! Gosh I have missed them so much....it actually made my heart hurt to realize that I had missed them like that!! Ellen is so dear to my heart that I don't think she even knows how much she means to me? She was so kind and good to me when I went to Ohio, that I felt so comfortable from the beginning!! Her husband Dwight (who has since passed) was also very kind to me, and I will tell anyone.....he cooked the most amazing breakfasts, that you just wouldn't believe!! I enjoyed my time with them!! I am so sad about Dwight, and how I never got to say good bye and tell him how much he meant to me, and that I loved him, but I know he knows now....because I told him last nite. I am a firm believer that loved ones are around you, and they can hear you, so I just talked to him, and hope he did hear me?

But back to the happiness~!! I am so thankful for My space, and for being able to connect with lost friends again!!

Thank You to all my Well Wishers~

I want to say a special "THANK YOU" to everyone who stopped by to wish me well. There were so many of you who sent wishes and hugs, and prayers too.
They must have all helped, because I am feeling so much better now!

As long as I take the medication the Doctor gave me, I am okay, and the headache doesn't seem so bad? So, I guess it was a pinched nerve, and I don't know how long they take to go away, but at least the pain is bearable now. And it gets less and less every day. So I am pretty sure I am on the road to recovery!!

I'm so glad it didn't turn out to be any of the other things mentioned, or something even that wasn't mentioned! I only know that the "knife" feeling is gone, and now I just have a dull ache all the time. I wonder how long it will be until that goes away??? Anyone have any experience with pinched nerves?? Maybe you can help me out here??

Tagged and Loving it!

I've been tagged by Bing over at
Of Living and Loving... and Coping.

Bing is one of the most amazing women I have ever met, either on here in the blogging world or in real life. I admire her so very much!

She lost her husband James almost 4 years ago, and how she is managing is remarkable! If you have not visited her blog and read her story, or stories....I would urge you to head over there now and see just why I love this Lady!

This tag is supposed to be 8 random things about me, so that all of you can laugh at me behind my back.....or behind your computers as the case may be, but get to know a little bit about the quirkiness that makes up Kat of Kats Candles......

So here goes................

1. I just got my hair cut. And I was going for the look that Kate Hudson has in her new movie "Bride Wars" and even brought pictures, I showed them to my gay stylist at Walmart (I know, I'll get to it, promise!) and he thought I'd look "absolutely Fabulous" with this cut, so his hands were flying and the hair was flying as he told me the story of how he wanted to be on Broadway, and tried out, but didn't make it, and tried out for American Idol also, but only got to the 2nd round, and blah blah blah....so here he is back to being a "stylist" because "you just have to have something to fall back on", and when he was done.....he was smiling from ear to ear, and I was kinda in shock. He thinks it's "wonderful darling!" and I think I look like a little Dutch boy!! I guess the moral of the story is something like this: Don't go to Walmart to get your hair cut, unless it's only a trim....and especially don't go if your "stylist" is gay and only wants fame! The good news is that it will grow out. p.s. I look NOTHING like Kate Hudson!

2. I am addicted to Rock of Love. I have seen the previous 2 seasons and the Charm School, and now am into the Rock of Love Bus on VH1. It stars Bret Michaels, the lead singer of the 80's group Poison. There is something so amusing about an aging rock star who wears more eyeliner than I do, trying to find true love on this show....and they keep bringing on stripper types, because that is what he likes! The drama, the fights, the drunkeness, the girls....oh my, but the laughter coming out of my mouth constantly all adds up to a really fun time! It's not rocket science, it's funny and kind of like a bad train wreck that you have to watch. You groan, but you laugh too, and I love to laugh, so anything that gets me there, Rock On!

3. I write and edit for the most amazing magazine on the internet, The Angels Weekly, and it is a magazine written by women, and for women. The articles in it are very diverse and they are about crafts, spirituality, sexuality, social issues, poetry, opinions, or just about anything else that we want to write about! You should come over and check out our great magazine, sign up for the feed, and maybe write for us too! We are always looking for new writers with a new perspective on any topic~!~

4. My daughter and grandson live right across the street from me in my parents old house. When I inherited it, I let them live there. And before that, I was living here across the street from my parents! It's kinda like the "Everybody Loves Raymond" situation....but without Marie. Well, also without Frank and Robert too!! lol But I've lived here since 1977, so I didn't want to give up my own house to move into my parents house, so to keep my family close, they moved in over there! Also, I don't think we are quite as funny as the Raymond crew.....close, but not quite. :)

5. I work in Medical Billing and get yelled at ALOT in my job! I understand people's anger, but why take it out on me?? I am not your insurance company that didn't pay your bill?? I think sometimes, they just want to yell at someone, and it turns out to be me on the end of the phone line. See #2 above, this is another reason I need to escape reality and laugh my head off, if not, I'd be grumpy all the time.....and I don't like grumpy.

6. I drive a truck (SUV) and carry around all my craft stuff with me, all the time, and people constantly make fun of me and all the "stuff" I have in my truck....they think I could live in my truck with all the supplies I have and how full my back is. Well, if I want to eat beads and candle wax, maybe. But I will always have three 4 foot tables that I can set up at a moments notice!

7. I am in love with anything to do with the TWILIGHT Series. Anyone who read my blog in December knows how much I enjoyed, not only the books, but the movie too! And now I'm even making my own Twilight Jewelry to wear. Couldn't find it anywhere, so I decided to make my own! I have lots of Twilight gear, and am in love with a fictional vampire, OMG, they are gonna send me to the loony bin!~

8. I love playing Guitar Hero, and was getting pretty good at it for a while, and then the grandson took over and whipped my butt!! I still can only play on the beginner mode, but I can get 5 stars on Schools Out by Alice Cooper! I have to say that I am proud of myself for that!! And I love Sing Star (kinda like karaoke) for the playstation too....although, I can't really hold a note to save my life, I sing like there's no tomorrow when I'm in my truck and driving....and at home sometimes with my computer and ITunes. I love to sing, even though you would NEVER want me to sing for you....you would cover your ears and beg me to stop! But with my Singstar....I feel like a rock star, and belt out all the wrong notes, and I just don't care!! (Only I don't dance around in my underwear!) :)

I've been Sick, Sick, Sick!

And I'm sick of it! lol

Okay, so we all have our colds and stuff, but now, this is even worse!

I had been having aches in my legs since Sunday, and yesterday when I woke up, I thought there was a knife in the base of my skull!! It hurt sooooo bad!! Now I have had headaches before, but this was unreal, and unlike anything I have ever had! The whole back of my skull and neck hurt really bad. I was a little un-coordinated, and in a whole heaping lot of pain.

Well, silly me, I decided I needed to go to work, so I drove to work, hurting all the way, and as soon as I got there, everyone knew something was wrong.....I guess I don't have the poker face I thought I did? I told them about the pain in my skull, and they all came up with diagnosis......let's see, there was "brain tumor" and "stroke" and "migraine" and all sorts of other lovely things you want to hear as soon as you get to work!! lol

And it's not like I didn't think of all those things myself, I just chose to ignore them....and if you read my last post about being in the hospital, (you can read it here) you know that there is nothing I like better than staying away from any healthcare facility!! But my boss told me I had to call my Doctor and get checked right away!

So I did.....and I got an appointment within the hour, so off I went to my appointment. Okay, here is the good part.....He thinks (THINKS?) that it is a pinched nerve, but it could also be meningitis or temporal arteritis....whatever the heck that is??? He didn't do alot of explaining. But for now, they gave me a shot in the muscle, for what I don't remember?? He told me, but I just remember he said it will help with the pain... and he sent me for blood work to "check out some things" and sent me home to rest with ice and heat and 2 prescriptions....and if I don't feel better by Friday...to call him.

And he said there was the posibility of bleeding going on in there, though he doesn't think so, but he wants to keep tabs on it??? How can he keep tabs on it if he sends me home with meds? I'm confused, but happy that I didn't have to go to the hospital again.....whoa.....I DON'T want that again....ever!

Anyway, I will try to keep you all posted as to what is going on with my head! Wish me luck, and say a prayer for me.......

Friends, Blogs and Awards....

It's raining awards....and I just love the rain!!!!

I have to say that the friends I have made here in the blogging world are the best friends ever!! I have not only read some of the most amazing blogs, but I have had conversations with bloggers from all over the world! It is so nice to be able to chat and share things with the people you meet on here.

That being said, my blogging friends again think my little ole blog is worthy of awards, and I am going to get right to posting them....

This wonderful award was given to me by my good friend Janet over at "Dolly's Daily Diary" who is also now a writer with our magazine Angels (thanks Janet!) and if you haven't checked out her latest post, which is a tribute to her mother, please go do so now. It is a heatwarming and loving post, and I am sure it will touch you, as it did me.

Janet also awarded me with this beauty of an award, The Noblesse Oblige award, and this one comes with all kinds of rules.....lol

Here goes:

Now, I feel that I have a very creative blog, and I do tend to take liberties with my blog, but I am sure that I meet at least one of those conditions listed above......
My post about helping to feed the stray animals of the world was not only inspiring, but also very imformative. And it gave my readers a way to help without having to send money, that is sometimes so hard in our tough economic times right now.....
I have been creative on occasion, especially the posts about making the Twilight jewelry, or making the chainmaille bracelet, or the necklaces and charm bracelets......

Anyway, I guess I have stated my case, and my blog is deserving......

Now this above award is the Van Gogh award, and I feel that I am creative and crafty, so this one is right on the mark for me....even though it is kind of a weird award...but hey, unusual is usually my thing, so maybe this is right up my alley?? Anyway, credit where credit is due... Roger DMan of Idaho Photo gave Sandee the Van Gogh's Ear award. I wanted to make sure he got the proper credit for creating and designing this great award! We are all artist in are own way be it art, photography, writing, philosophy, comedy, blogging and we all go a little crazy sometimes. But if you ever feel so crazy to cut off your ear and give it to a prostitute, "Seek Help"!

Okay, well, I would never feel so crazy that I would cut my own ear off, and if for some strange reason I did, I certainly wouldn't give it to a prostitute!! lmao

I made the Front Page of Ebay!! Yippee!

I am so very excited!! My handmade Twilight Jewelry made it on the Front Page of Ebay!

I have drawn arrows to 4 of my items that are featured and that the description with the star is for my Twilight Apple pendant!

I am beyond thrilled! To think that out of the thousands of Twilight items that are listed on Ebay every single day, that 4 of my items would appear on the front page!! Wow! And then to have a description of my pendant featured also, I still can't believe it!! I am in shock and disbelief~!

This has never happened to me before, and I feel so honored and proud. :)

Sorry, but I had to tell someone.....and I decided to tell all of you!!

New in my Store! Edward Cullen Earrings!

Edward Cullen Earrings

I have just entered these in my Artfire Store for sale.
This is a pair of Handmade earrings Twilight's Edward Cullen, Everyone's bad boy.
I have created a nice set of earrings of Edward Cullen out of pearlized polymer clay, meaning it sparkles a little bit, just like Edward in the sun! And his picture is displayed nicely!
These circular discs measure 3/4 of an inch wide.
They are very lightweight and you barely feel as if you have them on!
They are very unique and handcrafted, so they are not perfect!! They were not done by a machine.
I have used a high gloss on this, and the white spots you may see in the picture are the result of the flash hitting that gloss in certain areas. There are no white spots on these earrings!
I have enhanced these earrings with black and gold and amber colored beads, (just like his eyes in the movie!) and they have a drop of 1 and 1/4 inches.
The ear wires are silver plated.

What a Wonderful Gift this would make!
