Great Friends and My Class Reunion

Don't we look great after 34 years?

This is a pic of most of the peeople that showed up for our first class reunion,

it was only a small group...but a fun group.

Seeing as though it was our first one, I think we had a pretty good turn out!

We tried to keep it simple, and relaxed, and I think that was the best way.

No fancy dresses or hall to rent....

No DJ to take our money to spin tunes,

No bartender costing money to pour drinks....

We just had a blast in the backyard of our Class President.

And what I really enjoyed, is that I connected not only with old friends...

but I made new ones too!! People I knew in school, but didn't hang around with,

now I have a connection with them that I never had before.

For that, I will be forever greatful!!!

We are going to try to keep this up every year, and maybe even do some get-togethers in between the actual "yearly" reunions, so it will be fun!! It seems like now that we have

connected....we are not eager to let it go......

We can't seem to wait for a whole year.....

I'll keep you posted on when and if we get together again!!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

It has been raining hard here for almost the whole month of March,

and now most counties are in a state of emergency, because of the flooding that is happening everywhere!! They are saying on the news that this is the worst and most rain we have had since 1953!!

Most people's basements are flooded....mine isn't flooded, but there is a lot of water down there!!

People are losing their possessions.

Appliances are burning out, heaters and hot water heaters are being damaged and unusable. We are in a fix here.

Besides the rain being so damaging, it is also damaging to people's moods.

Everyone seems more moody now, most of the smiles and laughter is gone....

And it is replaced with the sullen looks of despair.

I just want the rain to stop.........

New Moon DVD is released!

So the New Moon DVD was released at Midnight last night,
and unlike the Twilight frenzy I was in last year, I was not going to any New Moon Parties, or waiting anywhere for the midnight release.

I just waited until today to go and get it on my trip to the post office.
No frenzy, no madness,
Just waited until today....

I guess it's because I wasn't as thrilled with this movie when I went to see it in the theater. If you recall, I was less than thrilled with this, because of the vampire eyes. It never really looked right to me throughout the whole movie.
It kind of threw me off.....

But as I am a die hard Twilight fan, I had to buy this one anyway.
And now I am off to watch it....
and hopefully enjoy it more than last time?

Grief, Loss and the Police...

Today I attended the funeral service for the mother of a very dear friend of mine, which in turn brought up so many hard memories for me.

My friend is a rock, she was wonderful, I don't know if it was an act, or she was surpressing her feelings, but I wish I was in that place....

I'm still not, and this seemed harder on me than it was for her?

Like I said, it brought up all those hidden feelings that I mostly keep burried deep inside, and don't let out for fear that the sobs will come again, and I won't be able to stop.

The last funeral service that I attended was for my Dad, and this brought all those memories back again. It was hard for me to be there, but I wouldn't have been anywhere else, than there showing my support for my friend....

No matter how hard it was for me.

Now, on the way home, I had to pass the entrance to the National Cemetary where my Dad is burried, and I felt like I had to go, even though I haven't been in a while.

If you know these National Cemetaries, you know that there are vast amounts of markers across the land, all flat with no definition....

As I pulled up to where I park on the circular road, I was puzzled as to where my Dad's grave was? It wasn't because I don't know....just that there are so many piled into this one area of land, and this land is completely covered in snow!!

I can't see anything but white!

I realize without even getting out of my truck, that I will never find my Dad's marker in all this snow!! I know the general area of where he is.....

But, when I have gone before, I still have to look around a bit before I find his marker.

I feel so lost............

I feel so alone............

I want to get out and go down the hill and over to the trees and walk upwards like normal, but there is snow and ice everywhere and I know that even if I did get down the hill without falling, I would have to scrape the snow away in many different areas before I find the one I am looking for.....

I just sit and cry.........

I fully expect a warmth to enfold me, to let me know it is alright....

But it never comes........

I just feel cold.......

And sad........

I don't know how long I sat there, but I realize that I will not be able to visit his grave today. I am thinking things to him in my mind, and hoping he hears me?

I blow a kiss in the general direction of his grave.....curse the snow, and drive away.

I am crying on the ride home.....this has been an emotional day for me....

And then I get pulled over for speeding.....

Didn't even realize that I was?

But I was.

I wasn't paying attention to my speed, and only when I saw the patrol car, did I look down and say "awwwww Sh*t" And then the blue lights came on.

I didn't hesitate....just pulled over, I knew it was me that he wanted....

Why not?

Nothing else is going right.....

I reached for my purse to get my license, and had it ready for him as he cautiously approached my window. Then I reached for the glovebox to get the registration. I had read that you should wait for them, so they don't think you are reaching for a weapon, or hiding something. (neither of which I would do)

He tells me that he has me doing 56 mph in a 40....

I have nothing to say but "okay"

I know that I am wrong....

Great news....this ticket will be through the roof!!!

Again, why not?

He takes my license and registration and says he will be right back.......

I just sit there thinking what a dope I am....

How did I let my emotions get the best of me?

Why wasn't I paying better attention?

At least I always wear my seatbelt, so I won't get written up for that!

He comes back, and says that he is giving me a written warning, and "try to slow down Ma'am"

Serious?

I just nod, because now the tears are rolling down my cheeks again, and I wonder how I got out of that?

I pull away, and only when I get home do I look at the warning, and see that he has put that I was doing 49 in a 40, so that justifies the warning instead of giving me the ticket that I deserved.

Sometimes you just have to wonder what is watching over you?

Was it because I was co-operative?

Was it because I was quiet?

Was it because I had been crying?

Was it because I was agreeable?

Or was it something else???

Then there is also the more techie things to consider, like bandwidth and photo sharing, etc.

What I like most and spend the most time looking at are the customer reviews that are listed, you really can find so much information from reading what the average Joe has to say about a company, rather than to read in a magazine what the said company wants you to know. These customer reviews are written by people like you or me, and offer valid points to consider when making a choice of a web hosting company. I like the fact that you can find out that the company that is offering a year of hosting for $3.99 a month, has lousy customer service and that they are down a lot of the time, meaning your site is also down, and you can't get someone on the phone to help you!! In essence, the price value isn't worth the aggravation. This is a wonderful place to find out how the average user's needs were met, or not, and really can help you make an informed decision when choosing a web hosting company.

Big Snow is Coming!!!

We are supposed to get a major snowstorm tomorrow, with loads of snow, and winds up to 60 mph!!!

I am not looking forward to it!

There will be power outages for sure!

I hope I am not in the area of the power outages........

Anyway....let's hope it misses us here on the Cape, and heads off to sea??

I have to appologize!

First of all, let me start by saying that I am sorry that I have not been posting much lately....

I am so frustrated with my computer and my internet connection, nothing has gone right since around September of last year...I think it was???

So, I got this brand new computer the end of October and nothing has worked right since. I am really tired of losing stories and posts, because this thing keeps crashing. It has sort of taken the wind out of my sails....

As most of you know, this is so not like me?
I used to post every single day, sometimes more than once a day, and I loved it!
I actually looked forward to posting and telling my stories or giving my two cents worth.....
But it seems like now, when I have something that I want to share, and I go to put down on here, I lose it and have to re-type it again and again, and finally, I just give up and say the hell with it!

I am practically on a first name basis with the Verizon techs, and that in itself is frustrating. So, last night after another frustrating phone call to the computer people, they tell me that they are "not" sending me a new internet card, also known as a network adapter card, that I have to take it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy where I bought it and they will fix it, because it is under warranty!! Now why the heck didn't they tell me that 3 months ago, instead of all this passing the buck, it's not us, call your internet provider....ohhhh it's not us, call your computer company.....nope, not us, call your internet provider and have them check the lines, ok, we checked.....not us, call your computer company.....and so on, and so on......

So, to get back to the story....I take this thing into Best Buy after work, they run a diagnostics test on it....and tell me that I have lousy antivirus software, and that the software detected 333 virus' 2 weeks after I bought it, but only removed 2....so....that is probably why my internet connection fails all the time?? What>>??? Are you serious???

He says the card is good, and he is on the internet now with no problem....so it is the virus' in the computer....and it will $189.00 for them to remove them, and oh yeah, I'll have to leave my computer there and they will get to it when they can.
Yeah right.........
But the good news is.....that $189 is a special they are running, it's usually $250.00!! Still not an option for me. He says the only thing I can do is wipe the hard drive and start from scratch.

Okay, how many times have I done this already?? Geeeeez Louise!!! So I tell him I will take my sorry ass computer home and do that, and install Kapersky anti virus.
Right now I am scanning with Avast to see if they can detect the other 331 virus' that are supposedly still on this machine. I asked him if I could just install the Kapersky and have that locate and remove the virus'...and he cocked his head at me and gave me a smirk and said "that would be like getting a flu shot after you got the flu.....it won't help"
Do you even know how badly I wanted to wipe that smirk off his face?? Arrrghhhh!

So, here I sit, waiting for my scan to go through, and hoping I can do that before having to wipe everything out......

Again, I am sorry, and I hate the fact that this has robbed me of my inspiration to write or do much of anything on here. The magazine has suffered because I cannot maintain it like I should. But then again, there weren't really many articles coming in around the holidays, so it didn't matter. I just feel deflated.........

And I don't like it..........

I'm going to post now, before my connection goes off......

Stupid Law in Massachusetts!

I don't know if you have this law in your state, but here in Massachusetts,
we do....and it sucks!!

Here is my story.....

I got an appliance for Christmas, and it didn't work properly, so I took it back to WalMart to exchange it for another one, and because I and the gifter did not have the sales receipt, I was told that I would have to re-pay the taxes!!!

What???? WHY??? When I am doing an even exchange??

The stupid answer that I got was that in the state of Massachusetts, if you don't have your receipt, even if you are doing an even exchange, you have to pay the taxes again??? WTF??

I tried to explain that their item was defective and that I only wanted another one, and it didn't matter....so I asked to speak to a manager, who said the same thing.... it is a state law, and it is not only Walmart that has to uphold this, it is every other store too.

Now, I don't know about you, but I have never heard of something so preposterous in my life!!! That leaves the consumer paying taxes again on a defective item, just because I didn't have a receipt?? Still doesn't make sense to me??

So I had to repay the taxes, and the next day, I asked the girls at work if they had heard of this, and a few of them had, and had to pay the taxes again too! The others were lucky and hadn't had to return anything!

Now, my question is this.....why do I not have to pay the taxes again "if" I have a receipt?? But I do have to pay them again if I don't?????? What does not having a receipt have to do with a defective item, and an even exchange???

Any ideas???
I'm dying to hear them!!

Memories of a Clock

I can specifically remember when I was a little girl, many Christmas mornings waking up early, and being told I had to go back to bed and wait for awhile....
Until the clock chimed 7am is what I was told.
And I remember laying in bed and waiting anxiously for the clock to chime those seven bongs...and then I could get up and open presents.

See, my parents had this beautiful Grandfather clock, and it would chime on the quarter hour with a beautiful melody, that completed more of the tune as the hour went on. Now this clock was not just a clock, it was one of the howard miller clocks that has become a staple name in the clock business. My mother absolutely adored her clock, as it was a present from my father to her. She had dreamed of owning one since she was a little girl, and my father made that wish come true for her. It was very much like the Grandfather clock pictured above.

And the reason that I had to wait until 7am, I later found out was...
My parents had usually been up most of the night assembling something or wrapping gifts, till late in the morning, and just wanted to catch a little bit more sleep. It was hard at the time, but being a mother now myself, I fully understand the waiting thing. Only I didn't have a clock like my Mom's to fall back on, I just had to get up and watch my daughter with one eye open and try not to doze off.

I remember with my Mom's clock, wanting to pull on those chains to wind it, like my mother did, but I really never got to, my Mom said I might break it. But it looked so enticing, the way she carefully pulled the chain down at night. She took very good care of that clock, and even though she is gone now, the clock remains in her house and my daughter and grandson are enjoying it. I don't think he has ever been told that he had to wait until the clock chimed for something though?

I read a great post about clocks and how if you love them you should display them where everyone can see them. You can read that article here. I agree with the writer of this article, because it made me think of my Mother and her clock, and how she really did love that clock. I don't think that in the current times, people appreciate the beauty of clocks, and what they can mean. The usual option is just to get a practical and cheap clock that will tell time.

I think people don't realize the memories they are missing.....

Like that of a little girl, waiting for the clock to chime on Christmas Morning...

Snowstorm Today!

Okay, so this is what I woke up to this morning!!

Yechhhhht!

I hate snow....
The only good thing about it is that it looks beautiful, and I didn't have anywhere to go today....

But my internet connection was down again, as usual,
so I didn't do a whole lot today.

I was snowed in, meaning that I couldn't open my front door, and had to wait for someone to come and dig me out!!
That is the bad thing about when it snows really bad here, I can't get out!
My main wooden door opens in, so there is no problem there,
but, the screen door opens out, and there lies the problem!
Whenever it snows a lot, the snow piles up in front of the door, and it is so heavy that I can't push open the door!

Sometimes when I have had to get to work, I have had to open the handle and then used my shoulder (like a football linebacker) to push the door open!!
And sometimes that has taken more than enough pushes!
I look so funny bracing myself, and plowing into the door....and then it pushes the snow away an inch or two, and I back up and repeat the process until I have pushed enough snow out of the way, that I can squeeze out my front door.
It is ridiculous!!

Anyway, This is what is looks like in Massachusetts today, in the Northeast after our snowstorm!!

Looking for Answers..

Okay, here is the question....

What is your favorite Christmas present that you received....

And what made it so special??

Mine was a "Beautiful Chrissy" doll that I had been absolutely dying for after seeing it advertised on tv for so many weeks leading up to christmas. She was a beautiful doll, with an orange dress, and red hair that was in a pony tail on the top of her head, and that hair "grew" into long hair when you pressed a button on her stomach.
How I loved that doll, and only later when I was older, did my Mom tell me the entire story behind it and how hard it was to get, and that she had bought a returned one that had hair that was mangled and tangled, and didn't go in and out....
She explained to me how she worked tirelessly with 1/4 strands combing the tatters out of that "long" hair so that it would look beautiful for me on Christmas morning! Then my Dad had to fix the "growing" mechanism, because that was broken too (probably why it was returned, along with the fact that someone mauled the hair! LOL) and he got that to work for me too.

When I received that present on Christmas morning, I remember I cried and cried, I was so happy, and I remember my Mom crying too, and only when I was older did I realize why she was crying.....it made me appreciate my "Beautiful Chrissy" doll that much more, and my wonderful mother, for doing everything in her power to make my Christmas wish come true!!!

Ever since I got this new computer with Windows 7, I have had nothing but problems!!

Okay, so as I am writing this, I see my internet light is out again on the modem, so I can't even post this.........

Treatment for the Dead

I stood before the grave of my dear departed friend, and looked at the tombstone, memories of good years gone by floated through my mind. Not all the memories were happy ones, but they became alive as I looked down at the earth. My experience was uplifting, and I was glad I visited the cemetery.

A cemetery is a sacred place, and it is open not only for burial, but also for visits. People are buried there by their loved ones, so they should not be forgotten. Bones in a cemetery bring back memories of living years; those living years are remembered by those that care. The value of a human being might be weighed in the way their body is treated after they are gone, being disposed of in an unmarked grave might state something about the dead and their relationships to others. I loved my departed that is why the dead body was not ignored, and it received a dignified burial.

A bone-yard is a place where human bones are buried; the bones come in all sizes and shapes. People who think human bones should be thrown into a garbage dump go there to dispose of their waste. The graves are unmarked, and whatever is buried there is soon forgotten. Animal as well as human bones fill the ground, and only an expert can tell what they are. Mixed with the bones are all sort of waste, and some would call it a garbage dump rather than a bone-yard. Few would call it a cemetery.

A bone-yard has its place in the world, not everybody deserves to be positively remembered. They were cruel to others, and never tried to be helpful. Why waste the expensive grounds of a modern cemetery with remains gladly forgotten? A cemetery is a place where good memories live and those graves will always be visited. The bone-yard and the garbage dump are twins; they both never get a visit except to dispose of waste. For those of us that want to be remembered after we are dead, now is the time to do good deeds, and live a life without harming others. People will remember the way we lived and those memories will last even after we are gone. If we are selfish and hurt others, the decay of the bone-yard or a garbage dump will be waiting.

This Is It ~ Michael Jackson Movie

I took my grandson Marcus to see the Michael Jackson movie, This Is It, and we both liked it a lot!! It is more of a documentary than a movie, and not so much a tribute to his life and works, as it is mostly the last rehearsal performances leading up to the Tour he would have started in July of this year, had he not died prematurely.

There were some boring parts about how they would set up the stage, and Michael being the professional he was, would routinely stop the rehearsal to tell a dancer to "do this, instead of this" or to tell the musicians that they need to hold that note a little longer.

I truly was hoping for old footage of his videos, and maybe interviews or something, but this is not that. This is specifically his last performances and giving you an inside view of what the tour would have been like.

They were going to re-do Thriller in 3-D and I am sure that would have been awesome, had we gotten to see it. We saw some snippets of some of them in costume, and moving towards the camera looking all ghoul like, but that is it.

Michael was still the ultimate performer, and still had the voice and the dance moves that he is loved so much for.

Marcus wanted to dance like him and imitate him, and I thought he was so cute! I have pics that I will post later.

A Very Fun Day

Today was a fun day for me!

This afternoon I went over to my daughter's house, and we played the Twilight board game with a friend of hers, that I had gotten for my Birthday in October.
It was so much fun!
Not that we knew all the answers to the trivia questions, some of them were kind of hard, and then there are challenges that you have to do too.
But all in all it was a fun day.

Then tonight, I'm on facebook, chatting with someone close to me, and my daughter calls me and asks if I want to go over for dinner?
We had leftover Thanksgiving dinner, and it was yummy!!

And then we just spent the whole evening playing movie trivia on demand!
How fun does that sound?? It was great!!
And Marcus played along too!!
We played Disney trivia for him.

I have to say....
It was a good day, and a long time coming....
I'm grateful!

Donny Osmond wins Dancing With the Stars

Last night Donny Osmond was awarded the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy for winning Dancing with the Stars with his dancing partner, Kym Johnson.

I am happy that they won, and I know there is a lot of disparaging remarks on the internet this morning about how he shouldn't have won, and Mya should have won, or Kelly should have won, but I just want to say that with the 3 of them in the finals, I didn't care who won! I liked them all and thought that the quality of dancing this season has been better than other seasons. So any one of them could have won and I would be happy. They all deserved it in one way or another, but only one could win.

I do think that Donny and Kelly improved the most throughout the season, whereas Mya seemed to be great right from the beginning. She was always at the top of the leader board, where Kelly and Donny had to fight back more than once. Also, Kelly and Donny had more mistakes and fumbles than Mya (who didn't seem to have any?) so this finale really showed how much they both had improved.

New Moon and this Weekend

Okay, so I saw the movie, and I liked it.....but didn't love it... ?

I will admit, I loved the special effects in this one, but I didn't like the make-up in this one, it made all the vampires really, really white, especially Edward!!
My Edward didn't look like he did in the first movie, and something about all the Cullen's eyes was weird too?? They just looked so fake in this one?? And the Leader of the Volturi, Aro....geesh!! His white make-up was awful!! You could see where it was wearing off, and the white had stayed in the creases of his face!!!

I know, it's probably a technicality...but it put me off.

I had been missing Edward since this time last year, and I have to tell you.... Jacob looked way hotter than Edward in this one!! I have been on Team Edward since the beginning.....but..... I may be switching sides......LOL

Don't get me wrong....the movie was good....just not as good as I would have liked?? I will say that they stuck to the book really well in this one, and I did like that. Plus, they added the visions of Edward in, so he was in the movie more than the book.

We got some bad news on Friday before the movie, so maybe that affected my frame of mind? We had a really hard weekend here, and that is why I haven't posted this sooner. I hope things will be okay tomorrow.

YAY!! Tonight at 6:45 pm, I go to see the New Moon Movie!!!
I can't even tell you how excited I am, but I am sure by now, you all already know! LOL

I will definitely have to let you all know about it after I see it.

This is a video of scenes and interviews from New Moon. It was put out by Made in Hollywood, and it is really good!!

I loved watching the cast interviews and hearing little snippets about the movie, and the making of the movie. You get to know more about the werewolves and the volturi. There is some good facts from director Chris Weitz too. Interesting stuff to set up the movie for you.

Welcome to Music Monday!
My selection for today is the Awesome band "BOSTON" with the song, Rock and Roll Band.

They are a local band for me, and in these lyrics, it says "Dancin' in the streets of Hyannis..." and I have to admit, that is where I first saw and heard Boston...in Hyannis on Cape Cod. They weren't a band that was known at the time, they were just some guys singing in the street. But boy, did they catch on in a big way!! I'm glad they did. Their music library is great!!

I couldn't find an official video for this song, so I went with this one that has the lyrics, so you can all sing along...... :)

New Moon Werewolf video

This is a clip I found of Bella and the Wolf Pack, when she confronts them, and you get to see the awesome CGI effects of the wolf transformation. Cool!

I had seen the clip where Jacob jumps off the porch and turns into a wolf, but I thought that scene went with the Laurent scene??? I was wrong....this is the scene that little clip was taken from. Much better!! Now it fits.

Wasn't that cool?? I can't wait to see all the changes in the movie!

I heard on the radio that he is leaving the band, and that they are already looking for a new lead singer??

Something about Joe Perry tried talking to him on the phone, and Steve hung up on him, and doesn't want to be in the band anymore.
I guess because Joe Perry has a solo thing coming out, Steve is a little out of sorts?? And now wants to do his own solo thing?

But He can't leave Aerosmith??

My Friend and A Poem for Dad

Lately I have been talking about a lot of things with a very good friend, and because she is so easy to talk to, I have opened my heart and my feelings, and put them out on display. It is unusual for me, but for some reason, I find that I can talk to her like no other. In my opinion, we have connected on a very special level, and I have opened up about things that I have kept hidden for so very long.

In doing so, I find myself feeling things I have blocked away, and although some of it is very painful, it is sort of cathartic in a way too. For that I am eternally grateful to her.

One of the things that I have been feeling lately is the pain I have buried deep down inside me, with the deaths of my parents. In sort of coming to some kind of terms with this....a poem, that expresses how I feel........

A Fathers touch, A Daddy's kiss,
A grieving Daughter, You're greatly missed.

An empty house, An empty chair,
A fathers love, No longer there.

A broken heart, Tear filled eye,
Another soul to fill the sky.

Many memories in my mind,

School Friends are Still Great!!!

I had the chance to have lunch again with one of my friends from school, and then we went for a walk on the beach. Here we are below....but???

What the heck is going on in the picture with my forehead?? I noticed that I have a circle of orange spots on my forehead?? LOL

Janice doesn't have any spots....or circles???
It is very strange....
Could it have some hidden meaning???

Now that I look at the whole picture...I look like a negative, and she is perfect!! Wow...funny huh?

Anyway, here is a picture of us when we first met up 2 weeks ago, but because I didn't have a computer, I couldn't post anything then!! I don't know what is up with my camera...but seriously, neither one of us is this chunky.....lol
This picture made us look short and fat....I cut off our legs, because they looked like midget legs for some reason??? And now our torso's look wide....which they aren't!! Oh well, at least in this one, the faces look okay...... Oh my gosh....I just noticed I had a larger booty!!! lmao!!

So this is us when we met up again for the first time in over 30 years!! Wow, how time flies, and yet, it seems like yesterday!! I love catching up, and I remember how easy it was to talk to Janice. I think we get along just as well now, even after being apart for all those years, as we did back in high school.

Yes, our lives have taken different paths, but we are still bonded together by a friendship that I think has never died.

I loved the time I have spent with her, and I look forward to so many more times. We are already talking about plans for next summer, I am so excited!!!

We walked on the beach today, and went to the Harbor, and I took some pictures, I will share them later.

Biking in New York City

The last time I went to New York City, we went to Central Park, and walked a little bit around, but did you know it is huge?? Central Park is 843 acres of park, including over 26,000 trees, lawns, paths and waterways. There are 36 bridges in Central park alone!

It was very tiring to walk it, and we rested a lot, and now I wish we would have chosen to rent a bicycle near Central Park and we could have seen much more of it than we did. I would have loved to have rented one of those tandem bicycles that are built for two, and just cruised along the paths of the park.

They have places to rent bikes by the hour, and it would have been much more enjoyable if we could have seen more of the Park. There is actually a place right by Central park where they have bicycles for rent in NYC. I know that next time we go, we will certainly be renting a bike or two so we can go all around Central Park and see all the fountains, and the carousel, oh gosh, how I wish I had seen that!! I have heard so many things about the carousel in Central Park, and yet I have never seen it!

There is so much to do when you are in New York City, and you can even experience Central Park, or for that matter, Downtown or Midtown too, with a NYC Pedicab tour! It is like a rickshaw, but powered by a bicycle upon which a trained tour guide will pedal you around and you can sit back and relax while you are sightseeing the City. Doesn't that sound nice??

Halloween Last Night

This is a picture of Marcus last night when he went out trick or treating.

He was JigSaw from the horror movies "SAW" and he loved his costume!! The scarier the better for him!!

I didn't go out with them, I stayed home to pass out the candy, only there weren't any kids to pass out candy to??
It has been like that for the last few years, so again last night, I only had Marcus and his cousin Matt (you can see him in the picture with Marcus) to give candy to.

I bought special large Hershey bars, for Marcus, Because those are his favorites. And I bought a six pack box in case there were others, and then I bought some smaller bars of kit kats, but I had no little ghoulies come knocking on my door.

I even had my camera ready to take pics of the cute costumes.
But I don't have any to show you.

Anyway, here is my little horror fiend.....going out on his favorite holiday!!

Okay, I think I am good to go now!!

I had to delete some stupid trial anti virus software that came with the new computer and it seems to have done the trick. I didn't install it, I have my own anti virus, but it seems to have installed itself in one of windows 7 updates.

So for now, it is looking good for me and I haven't frozen up in a while, so keep the fingers crossed that I am up and running and able to get back to blogging....

Gosh! I can't believe how much I missed it and all of you too!!
I truly felt lost, like I was going through withdrawal or something.

Blogging every day has become a habit for me, and to not have my computer for more than a week has been very stressful for me. I missed getting up in the morning and while having my cup of tea reading the blogs that I love.

I also stressed in the beginning about my farms on facebook, but I soon got over that, and figured that my crops had wilted and there was nothing I could do about it, but I missed talking with all my friends, and just being in the loop. I feel like I have so much catching up to do.

The blog posts that you saw posted here and at The Angels Weekly, were posts that I had scheduled, so I wasn't actually here posting anything, they went up automatically, so when I read your encouraging comments about how you thought I was back, it was sad, because I wasn't. But I will admit, it did make me smile tonight when I read them. Thank you.

I will be back on track soon......

New Computer, Windows 7 keeps Freezing!

Hello everyone!

I had to buy a whole new system, and the bad thing is...

It has the new operating system, Windows 7, and for the life of me, I don't know what's wrong?

It keeps freezing when I get online.

I haven't been able to do much of anything. I have looked for help, and updated my drivers as suggested (I was confused as to why I would have to do this, with a brand new computer and all?) but it still freezes after a few minutes online??

What the heck?

I am using Internet Explorer, because it also won't let me download anything, I tried to download Firefox, and it stays stuck at 99% downloaded?? I also tried to install Adobe flash, and that got stuck too, so I am running on the bare minimum.

Is everyone having this problem with Windows 7??

And how do I solve it??

I hope to get back to my regular stuff as soon as I possibly can, and I thank you all for stopping by, and keeping my hopes up.

If anyone has any help or suggestions, I'd love to hear them??

System Crash!!

My entire system has crashed!!

I can't get much of anything to work.
I am writing this in Firefox safe mode.
My system keeps rebooting itself, and won't let me do a system restore, or utilize any of my anti-virus programs. I must have a whopper of a virus!!

Will one of the Angels please post a comment on the site, so that readers will know that I will post the articles as soon as I can??

Sorry...until this is fixed, I'm pretty much down.....

Mia Michaels is Leaving SYTYCD

I just heard that Mia Michaels, the Emmy winning choreographer is leaving the hit show, So You Think You Can Dance?

I liked her on the show, and I loved the routines that she choreographed with the dancers. She wrote on Twitter that she "had five wonderful years to create moments and movement for the world to share with me."

Awww, I will miss her on the show, her input, her laugh, her intensity, and most of all her choreography. She stayed to help select the top 20 for this season, and now she will be gone.

Adam Shankman another great in the choreography world, will become a regular judge, but I am not sure if he will choreograph any of the routines?

Nigel Lithgoe said that she is welcome to return this season or next, or anytime, and praised her contributions to the show.

She won an Emmy award in 2007 for a routine that she choreographed for SYTYCD, I think I remember it being the routine with Travis and Holly and the bench, and the Sunflower?? Is that the one?

Vampyres, Teens and Tempted...

Okay, the Chiropractor Visits

Okay, so this is what I look like when I am getting adjusted at the Chiropractor's Office, but wait, I am getting ahead of myself....

I thought that with everything going on with me and my health, and the fact that I still don't have a definite answer as to what is wrong with me, or if it will happen again, I was doing some research on Web MD, and found a very interesting article that said that if you have been to numerous doctors and had all the necessary tests, and you still don't have a diagnosis, that perhaps chiropractic treatments can help you...... huh?

Really?? So, I called my health insurance, to see if I was covered, and they said I was covered for 12 visits per calendar year, so I booked an appointment with a local chiropractor. Now, I haven't been to a Chiropractor since the 80's after a car accident left me with a bad back, so when he first adjusted me by pushing on my back.....I could loudly hear the vertebrae all popping into place, and it sounded like dominoes!! LOL
Ughhhh.....it kinda took the wind out of me, but he said that was good that they all adjusted "so nicely" and then he did my hips and neck. I am a mess people!!! I knew I would be, but this is just too funny!!

So anyway, when I went on Tuesday, I had a whole new routine.....
First I went for massage therapy, which should be nice, but isn't because I am so tight and knotted in my back, that it is sore. But the whole purpose of her massaging me, is to loosen up my back, for easier adjustment.
Next, I was told I was going for traction...... WHAT???
It wasn't anything like I thought....LOL
I was thinking being attached by the arms and legs and being stretched....seriously, that is what I thought.....
But what it was, was that I laid down on a table that has a cutout in the middle where your back is, and then they turn on a machine, and a roller type thing moves up and down your back, sometimes soft, sometimes harder, and that is also meant to loosen up your back.

Anyway, when I was done with those 2 things, the doctor took me into the adjustment room, and I laid face down on the table, as above, and he proceeded to pop my back into place again.
And my hips, and my neck.....

So I went again today, and got all massaged and tractioned and then adjusted, I am just a walking sore mess. They told me that is because they are doing a lot of work on my back, and my muscles are not used to it. Well, I believe them, because I am one sore puppy!!

Next week I go back again on Tuesday and Thursday, let's hope I am not so sore next week!!

Buying an Awesome New Bike

I have been searching for the perfect bike for my grandson, Marcus, and I was told to check out the great deals that they have at Makai Bikes online. So I went over to the site, and I have to tell you, I am impressed, not only with the variety of different bikes to choose from but the prices are great too!!

He is too young to get him a 10 speed bike, but this site offers 7 speed or 3 Speed Cruiser Bikes that I am sure will suit him just fine. I am looking more towards the 3 speed, because he is not going to go on a marathon trip or anything, and I think that 3 speeds will be just fine for around here. He has never had a bike with speeds before, so I imagine that 3 will be more than plenty for him. These bikes are awesome and just like what he was talking about when he was discussing getting a new bike. I like the one that is on the top left, and I think he will too, because it is real boyish with the black frame and pin striping on it.

What I did find though is that they have loads of different colored bikes to suit everyone, and they have so many different varieties and colors of women's bikes that I was really taking the time to look at the ones that they offered. We don't have bikes like this in our area, in the local stores, so this is a treat for me to be able to see all the different models of bikes that they offer. We don't live in a big city, so maybe if you lived in a big city, you would have more of a variety to choose from, but we don't, so shopping online is one of the ways I can always find things that I normally couldn't.

I will have to also remember to purchase a Combination Bike Lock for Marcus' new bike, so that he will be able to keep this one!! Someone stole his last bike right out of their yard! So that tells you what kind of neighborhood we live in. So to get a bike lock is going to be mandatory, especially for a bike that is this nice.

They have so many different accessories also, like helmets (this will also be a mandatory purchase) and mirrors, and I am thinking of getting one of the Bike Bags too, so he can put things in it that he needs. I remember when I was younger, I had a basket on the front of my bike, and I used it constantly, so I think he might like a bag, so when he goes to his friends house, he can put his wrestling guys in it to bring with him, or a drink, or whatever he might want to put in it. I just think it is a good idea to have one.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you, I am really excited about the free shipping!! Yay, I don't have to worry about paying an arm and a leg to get that bike here. There is always free shipping at Makai Bikes, and they have a secure checkout, which is really important to me. I like to know that the purchases that I make online are safe and secure.

I will let you know how he likes the bike!!

My License Ordeal

Today I had to go and get my driver's license renewed, because it was going to expire, and what an ordeal that turned out to be!!

I got to the registry about 8:30 am and got my number B233, and took a seat in the already crowded license renewal area. The first number they called after I had sat down was B205...........
Boy, was I in trouble!!

I should have known that there would be a lot of people there after a holiday weekend, but I can't help it if my birthday always falls around Columbus Day??
So anyway, I had to wait, and wait, and then wait some more, and the people around me were getting mighty restless, and around 10:30, one large man said "Geeesh!! I got here at 9:45 and I still haven't been called!!" to which I replied, "I got here at 8:30 and I'm still sitting here!!!"
LOL, he immediately pulled out his phone to call someone to complain to, and tell them about how long he is going to have to wait! And the guy next to me called his neighbor to have them let the dog out at 1:00, because based on the way we were all still sitting there, he figured he wouldn't be home in time to let the dog out.

I think the main reason was, with the cutbacks and all, this is one of a few registries still open in our area, and they only had two women working the 4 person license desks. And to top it off, after every kid finished his or her learner's permit test, they were brought to the front of the line to get their permit, and every kid who passed the driver's test, the same thing!! So, there were a lot of teens getting their licenses and permits, and a lot of us grown ups just getting angrier and angrier!!

The waiting area was packed, and the lines were out the door!!!
It was insane!

Finally, after 11:00 am, they finally called my number.
Then she told me that I had an unpaid excise tax bill from this year, and had to go get that paid and cleared up before she give me my license!!

So, long story short, I had to go to an ATM, pull out money (get charged a $2 fee because it wasn't my bank) and then pay the bill, then go back to get my license. On the way back to the registry to get my license, I got a cup of tea at Dunkin Donuts, and after I left with my temporary license, as I pulled out of the registry parking lot, the tea spilled all in my lap because the lid wasn't on tight!!! SOB!!!

Now, my legs are red and sore, but not badly burned, and my pants and car seat were soaking wet, and I had to go to work!!!

Luckily we leave a pair of black pants at work in case of emergency, and this was an emergency, so I wore those for the rest of the day. I didn't get to work until after noontime, for something that should have been quick and easy. Now I lose 4 hours and my legs are burned, and I am out money I didn't expect to be out of....and the rest of the day sucked too!!!

I'll let you know about the chiropractor visit I had after work today, in tomorrow's post....

Hopefully, tomorrow is going to be better!

This has been a long week for some reason?? I don't know what it was, but this week dragged on and on.....I am just very glad that Friday is here and we have the long weekend!!! YAY!!!

And I have to get my driver's license renewed on Tuesday so that I can be all legal on Wednesday, because that is when it expires!!! My birthday!!! Another Yay!!!

My Cousin and Her Addiction to TV

My Cousin Alice is moving again, and she is thinking of going down South to live near some of her relatives. But the thing that makes this whole moving thing so funny, is that she called my Aunt Rosie to find out if they had Direct TV in Florida? Alice is so addicted to her TV shows, that she is planning on moving, but with the key factor being that wherever she is moving has to have Direct TV!

I find this highly amusing, and she doesn't think it is funny, but who moves somewhere based on if she can watch her shows? I have received some good advice from my readers here, and I have passed that on to Alice, in the hopes that she does her research, and checks with mytvoptions.com to see if they have directv service in the area she is planning on moving to. My Aunt assures her that everyone down there has it, she says it is better than cable, and the reception is so much nicer. Also, that there are more channels offered than what they got with the local cable company, so it was a no brainer that they went with direct tv.

So, Alice is packing up, and heading down to Florida with the knowledge that she will still get all her shows, and will be able to record them while she out looking for a job. I think sometimes, she is too obsessed with her programs, but then again, who am I to judge?

A Loan for My Heater

I live in the NorthEast and it has been getting pretty cold up here lately. As you may have remembered from some of my other posts, I have no heat. On March 3rd, my heater decided to die on me, leaving me with no heat. And if you remember it was cold right up until May.

Needless to say, I will need to get heat for the winter, and I have been looking into places that are a usa fast cash lender, because I am in the United States, and I need cash. It really stinks that I can't have it fixed and go on a payment plan of some sort, but most of the heating companies, don't do that. They want the money up front and now! Well, because I had no idea the whole entire heating system was going to shut down, I was not prepared to have it replaced.

I, like most people, live paycheck to paycheck, and don't have an extra $5,000 laying around to replace a heating system. Thank goodness there are companies out there that are willing to help someone like me, in my situation.

Now, I just have to complete the application and wait to see if I am approved. I sure hope I can get approved, or else I will be sleeping in my coat again, burrowed under 10 blankets like I was earlier this year.

I want my DTV

There is something so wrong about my cable company charging me the prices that they do!!
It used to be the only game in town, but now I have the option to go with DirectTV and get a much better deal!

I can have better sound and picture quality, while still having the capability of my DVR, which I don't think I could live without! I didn't know that Direct TV offers a DVR with their bundles?
What direct tv offers me, is much much more than what I get with my lousy cable company.
Just look at the chart below and see what I mean!

There is so much more here that what I get now, that I would be foolish not to go with direct satellite tv, because they can fulfil all my needs at a much better price.
Right now they are offering special web deals too, such as packages that start at $29.99!! What cable company offers that today??

I even did the free online quote and saw the huge difference in the price I am paying now verses the price I would be paying with direct tv satellite. There is a major difference in price and programming!!

I love my movies, and they offer a package that includes the major movie channels free, and I would also get the NFL Sunday ticket too!! All this for over $30 less than what I pay now for cable!! I could watch my movies and football too. Or I could record the movies on my new HD DVR and watch them later.

Does anyone have Direct TV, that could let me know how much you love it?

Fashion is a Passion

I have written many articles on this blog about fashion, because it is one of the things that I am passionate about. I know that I am not the best dressed female in the world, and I can't even rival Carrie and her gang from Sex and the City, but I have to admit, I give it a good shot.

We all know how Carrie coveted her Manolo's right? Well, I have never owned a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes, but there are so many other types of shoes that I do own and love!! I can't afford the Laboutin's either, but that doesn't stop me from ordering shoes online until they come out of my ears!! The shoe industry is so vast, that you can find shoes to rival the Manolo's or the Laboutin's and they look just as good but for a lot less price. And we all know that in this economy, we need to save our pennies....right ladies??

So the first thing I did was to find companies online that I could order from without a hassle or getting ripped off. I found this great article that lists the best online retailers for shoes, and I go with that and I haven't had any problems!! I am more than happy with the company I chose to go with, and I would urge you to check them out!

It seems like Hollywood rules our fashion, and the runway shows have a play in it too. But we all want to look our best and footwear is the best possible accessory to get noticed. Shoes play an integral part of our style, and sometimes I will buy a pair of shoes and then create my outfit from that!! Have you ever done that?? I recently bought a pair of stylish women's winter boots, and they didn't match anything I had, but I just HAD to have them. So, I also had to buy a new outfit to go with the boots!! It's funny, but you justify the purchases because you have to have to have the boots!

I am not sure that I would wear some of the shoe fashions that come down the runway, or that I even see for sale?? There is a very informative and funny post on ugly shoes over at Crabby Blogging Lady's blog, and here is a preview....... would you wear any of these??

The ones down below look like your toes and the ball of your foot would be on the floor or the pavement, and that is just gross!!!

And the ones on the right, they just look like torture devices!!! LOL Except for the blue cardboard ones, and I guess those might come in handy someday.....? Really??

Me? I like a nice pair of heels, that aren't too flashy, and that I can actually wear. Or on the weekend, give me my sneakers every time!! On the weekend, that is my comfort time, and it gives the tootsies a rest!!!

Why did I do it?

I thought I had a good idea this morning, when I had to go to the bank and deposit a check, I figured it would be a good time to close out my Mom's safety deposit box. I haven't been able to do it, and they charge a fee every year for the box, so I figured, hey, while I'm here, I can close that out, and not have to pay the fee anymore?

Why did I do it?

I wasn't ready to open that slim box, and view the contents, let alone touch them and take them out. I didn't bring tissues, mistake right there.

I still can't believe how hard it is for me? I have to find some way to come to terms, and I still haven't. It put me in a funk, and today is not the right day to be there.

I don't know how long it will take me to transfer the contents from the box I carried the things out from the bank in? They need to be somewhere other than a shoebox, but I just don't know when I will be ready to open it up again?

Lady Gaga and Private Parts

After watching the MTV Video Awards and hearing Russell Brand comment on Lady Gaga being a Hermaphrodite, I was curious! Am I the only one who hasn't heard the rumors buzzing around the internet? Lady Gaga is the hottest new thing, and I thought he was just making fun at her expense, but I guess, no, Lady Gaga is a hermaphrodite, and that means that she was born with both the male and female genitalia. This evidently all started from a very revealing performance she gave at the Glastonbury festival in England when she stepped off her motorcycle and revealed what looks like a penis rather than vagina!

Hard to really tell from the photo above (and you can click for a larger image), but Lady Gaga, has admitted that she really is a hermaphrodite! This is a direct statement from Lady Gaga:

“Its not something that I’m ashamed of, just isn’t something that I go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female. Its just a little bit of a penis and really doesn’t interfere much with my life. the reason I haven’t talked about it is that its not a big deal to me. Like come on. its not like we all go around talking about our vags. I think this is a great opportunity to make other multiple gendered people feel more comfortable with their bodies. I’m sexy, I’m hot. I have both a poon and a peener. Big f*cking deal”

Now, none of her representatives have confirmed this, so I don't know for sure whether she is just drumming up publicity or not?? To see her at the awards show, she didn't look embarrassed by what Russell was saying. I don't suppose it has hurt her any in CD sales, and she seems to be appearing everywhere, and you hear her on the radio all the time, so whatever she is doing is working.

Sorry Folks...

Due to the computer virus that one of my Entrecard friends (NOT!) decided to give to me, I am kind of lacking in the dropping department....
Here and from
The Angels Weekly and Soy Wax Candles Blog.

It makes it hard when my browser keeps shutting down and redirecting me to websites that I don't know.
It is unfortunate that people feel the need to do this to other people.

I have found that when dropping the Entrecards, some of the sites when they first loaded already had a "thanks" in the drop box, and from what I have read on my friend's blogs, this could be the culprit. Now, I am not saying these sites are purposely infecting other sites, but they could have been hacked and contain a virus. If you see this, don't drop, and immediately leave those sites, and I would send a report to Entrecard to let them know that something is wrong.

Like I said, it is not just me this has affected, and some people have better anti-virus protection than I obviously do, so please just keep this in mind when you are doing your drops. And make sure your firewall is on!!

Also, lately I have been reciprocal dropping from my inbox, sort of a way to return the favor, but I have to say that until this virus is sorted out, I will only be dropping on my long time favorite blogs, ones that I know are safe.

I have installed a new anti virus program as some people suggested, but that hasn't helped? It didn't detect the virus...so I am going to try some of the other suggestions that were offered.

Until then, Please have patience with me, I will try to get back to regular dropping soon!!!

Computer Virus's Suck!

Are you and your computer suffering from a computer virus, even though you thought you had the best anti virus protection loaded on your computer? Well, join the club.

I have now obtained another virus, even though I have what I thought was the best virus protection program installed on my computer. It does it's daily scans, and it's daily updates, but I guess all that doesn't matter when you get infected with a nasty virus.

I purchased what I thought was the best in computer protection, and it even performs spyware removal for me if it finds any. But it seems as though you are taking your life (or in this case your computer) into your own hands if you decide to surf the internet. Now, there isn't a lot that I do, or really even many places that I go, except to drop on my friends, and read their blogs, and I go on facebook to connect with friends, so how in the world did I get a virus?

I don't know if it is a trojan virus, or a worm, or any of the other names they have given to these destroying things, but it is not funny. Not one bit!

This is like losing a friend, this is what I do, and how I earn some money, so this has made me angry that I have to have it fixed....again! Does anyone have an anti virus program that actually works? I wonder. I don't see the point in these virus things anyway? Whoever the creeps are that create these, why do they do it? And what do they get out of it? I would never be mean to someone, whether I knew them or not, it just isn't in my nature, so it is really hard for me to understand mean people. And this is just mean. To inflict a disabling virus on someone, so that they can't use their computer?? How much fun is there in that?

Maybe someday there will be a program that will work and we can all explore the internet till our hearts are content, with no worries of a virus popping up and crashing your computer!! Am I living in a fantasy world where people are nice?

Vampire Diaries Update... Sort of...

Okay, so I watched the Vampire Diaries show that I had taped, but fell asleep while it was on, so this will be short....LOL

From what I did see, it was a rip-off of Twilight....
Vampire interested in human girl
They attend school together
There is a bad Vamp killing people in town

So far, that is what I got out of it?? Like I said I fell asleep and didn't see most of it, but obviously it wasn't good enough to hold my attention?? Or maybe I was just too tired??

I think I will stick to my Vampire, Edward Cullen.

There is a new show starting tonight at 8:00 pm called the Vampire Diaries.
It looks to me like a Twilight rip-off, with the pale skinned guy with the manacing eyes, and that they are in school and everything....
But I will have to see??

I still have work to do, so I have set it up to tape on my DVR.

Has anyone heard anything about this?? Or read the books??

When Suze Orman speaks, People Listen

I just heard the latest in stem cell research, there is a big name backing the wonderful uses that this research does, and her name is Suze Orman!

You can click here to read the Suze Orman story. We all know Suze Orman as the finacial expert who offers advice to women epecially, and she is a regular on the Oprah Winfrey show giving that financial advice. She also has her own show on SNBC called The Suze Orman Show where she took a call from a mother to be, who asked if it made sense to store the baby's umbilical cord blood? Now, Suze tells the caller , and I quote, "let me just make this easy for you, since I am a believer in stem cell research and I am a believer that we need to do things like this…even if you couldn’t quite afford it at this point, I would have you figure out how you could." She added enthusiastically, "Go on, save your baby in the future."

Evidently she believes very strongly in stem cell research and feels that it is a great financial move on anyone's part and that they should try financially to afford this wonderful option, as it might just save their baby's life someday. And who can put a price on your baby's life?

Cryo-cell does wonderful things for so many people, and they have been in business since 1992. That should show you something right there!

If Suze Orman back this, I think it makes good financial sense for us all to take notice!!

I saw this and I can't stop laughing at Justin Timberlake!! This was a skit on Saturday Night Live, and Andy Samberg and Justin and another guy got in on the act with Beyonce.
It skipped sometimes, but I let it run a bit, then pulled it back to the beginning to let it catch up, and it was fine. The image is a little fuzzy, but Justin is on the left, and he knows all the moves! LOL

Shakira is in the clips too towards the end, and I have to say that she looks a lot like Beyonce! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this.

New Moon Poster, Edward and Bella, WOW!

This is the Vampire that I have come to love.....
This is the Edward that I envision. With those eyes, and the vampirish look. Yes, he looks menacing, but in a tempting way..LOL

I can't wait for the movie to be released November 20th, I am like a junkie without my fix.... :(

I have a countdown to New Moon, on my other blog, Soy Wax Candles Blog, and it is only 74 days away....YAY!

I have heard that the third book in the series, Eclipse, will be released next March, but we will have to wait to see for sure. That one is another one I can't wait for, That is when Edward and Bella really get into their relationship, and He has to fight to protect her (Silly Bella, always in trouble). Yes, I am definitely looking forward to Eclipse.

New Moon Pics, Bella and Jacob

Okay, so this is a picture from the New Moon Movie, and it is of Bella and Jacob getting mightly close!! I don't like it, because I root for Edward!!! LOL

But I completely understand the scene from the book, having read it more than once!! But I still don't like it. :)
And they are looking a lot chummier here than I remember in the book??

Did you happen to see the mob scene when the cast went to the Comic Con Convention to promote New Moon?? It was crazy!! They had to have tons of security to protect them and to enforce crowd control. The fans were in a frenzy trying to touch the actors and actresses and there was loads of screaming and everything. It reminded me of when the Beatles first came to America and the crowds went wild!!

So they had to have barricades set up along the sidewalk where the limos and the cars would pull up. Those are the wooden saw horse things so the crowds would stay back. And then leading into the convention center they had stanchions (pretty big word, huh? I just learned what they were called!) which are those retractable belts attached to poles to lead the lines into the convention. And did you see that the belts were imprinted with "New Moon" on them? I thought they looked really nice, and what a great advertisement for the upcoming movie!

Then leading up to the table where Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the others were signing autographs for the lucky few, there were red velvet ropes controlling the crowd and leading them in an orderly manner to the tables.

There was still security close by to help with the unruly crowds. Were we ever like that as teenagers?? LOL Although I did see some older women screaming and pushing just like the kids......

Here is another photo from the movie, this one is of Jane (Dakota Fanning) leading Edward, Bella and Alice in to see Aro, Caias, and Marcus, The Volturi Vampires. Doesn't she look evil?? Not the sweet little Dakota we all know and love.....LOL

Entrecard is Broken.....Again!!!!

I tried to drop on all my friends with Entrecard, but this is the error message I get....

Geeesh!! It seems like there has been nothing but problems ever since they were sold. Doesn't it?? Add this to the fact that you no longer get credit for articles written, and the site that you drop on doesn't get a credit anymore when you drop, and I think Entrecard is going down the toilet!! There really isn't much to like about Entrecard anymore, is there?

Is anyone else getting this error?? Were you able to drop your cards tonight?? I feel bad, but I will try to drop tomorrow!! :)

My Back Is Still Hurting!

Okay, so my back is still hurting, but I have to keep on going! There is so much to do, and time is slipping away.The pain is really bad and reminds me of the time I went on a skiing trip with my school.

We went as a group and I had never skied before, so I was nervous, but a couple of us went to the "bunny slope" because we were newbies, and attempted, mind you I said attempted to ski down this big hill! (Now my perception of this hill is from a never before been skiing person, and it looked huge and long and deadly!) Well, my first time to attempt to go down (when I could stand up on the damn skis without falling over, was a disaster! We were told that we should take the lessons, and we didn't. Most of the slopes offer this for new skiers. So, I only went a few yards and then I fell, and when I fell, on the way down, I must have twisted, because the medics said I pulled all the muscles in my back, and that I should have relaxed when I fell and it wouldn't have been so bad!

Yeah right!

Easy for them to say...I was so rigid it wasn't even funny! A board would have looked more pliable than I was going down that hill!

Anyway, we should have taken advantage of the ski training that was offered by the nice people at the lodge, but being teenagers, we were embarrassed and thought we could figure it out.

Again with the Yeah right!

Next time I go skiing, I will gladly have a nice gentleman show me the proper way to stand and ski. And then maybe I won't get injured on the first day of the trip!! I had to stay in the lodge by myself while everyone else was out having fun, and put cold and hot compresses on my back, and rest and take it easy. I would highly recommend that anyone going skiing for the first time, go to a ski camp, and/or take lessons!!

So this pain in my back has brought back the memory of the pain from the ski trip, I'm not sure I really wanted to remember it, or the pain in the back!!

Major Cleaning and a Bad Back

I have been doing major cleaning at my house, and on Tuesday I pulled the muscles in my back!! OUCH!!

So yesterday, I could barely move, and so I had to take it easy, but today I found a Therma Care back wrap, so I put that on, and the heat felt soooo nice!! And then I went to town cleaning again today!! I can't believer how much stuff I have and how much I am getting rid of??

Anyway, I know I will be sore again tomorrow, because now that I have stopped for the night, I am starting to feel the pain in my back again!!

I am going to go lay down and just watch TV for the evening!!

I was over at Melissa's Homeschool blog yesterday, and I read something wonderful!
She is one of the awesome people who actually does something to help feed the hungry.

How many times do we enter contests hoping to win, and never give a thought to those more unfortunate than ourselves? By entering THIS contest, and by donating just $5.00 you will feel good whether you win the ring or not!! I do, and I did!! I donated yesterday after reading her write up, and I don't care if I win the ring or not, I feel good knowing that someone that is hungry will have food this Thanksgiving, thanks to Michelle and myself.

I was in this terrible position a few years ago when I was unemployed and unable to pay my bills and/or put food on the table. I had to swallow my pride and go to the food pantries to ask for help. Let me tell you, it is a lousy feeling. I can't imagine doing it for longer than I had to. But I remember feeling guilty more than anything.....
You feel like you are worthless, and shouldn't be getting a hand out, but on the other side of that coin, you can't find work, and the money isn't there. What do you do?? You have to reach out and hope that there is help out there. I remember that Thanksgiving, my holiday dinner consisted of a tuna fish sandwich. Lousy, I know, but at least it was something. You hear everyone talk about their plans and what they ate, and you just keep your mouth shut because you don't want to say that you had tuna fish. But that was all I had, and at least I ate. So many people don't. That is why I am behind this 1000%. Now you know why.

Ok guys, I need your help!
On the magazine that I own and edit, The Angels Weekly, I get all kinds of spam and comments that I don't think are comments, and I am confused about them?? Can anyone help me sort them out?

The platform for the magazine is wordpress, which I am not great with, and a lot of the comments that are pending moderation, aren't really comments, but it looks like someone stole the article and reprinted some of it with a link to our page? When I click on the url of the user, it brings me to a page, that sometimes does and sometimes doesn't have anything to do with what the article in question is about? But there is a portion of the article, on someone else's page, with a "read more" that takes you back to our magazine?? I am so confused??

Are they stealing our content?? Or just using it for filler?? Should I be approving these to get links that Google likes?? Or would approving them be bad?? I just don't know?? Help me please!!

So, today I go to my comment section, and there are 2 Twitter Trackbacks?? What the heck is that?? Can anyone help me out?? I will copy and paste below for you:

Another Celebrity Dead...

Here we go again??
I just found out about DJ AM Adam Goldstein dying. I am in shock. What on earth is happening? This has got to be the worst year for celebrity deaths, you think?
So, in case you are like me and haven't heard the news: DJ AM's body was discovered around at 5:27 PM ET yesterday in his apartment in NYC. Police found drug paraphernalia and prescription pill bottles. A bag of crack was found around his groin area and a glass "crack pipe" was found in his bedroom. The pill bottles were found in the kitchen.

He was an wickedly talented DJ, who spun records at many Hollywood clubs and parties, both private and for the public. The Palms Casino Resort paid tribute to DJ AM by showing this on their resort. It is a nice tribute, but it's a shame it has to be done at all!

He used to date Mandy Moore and was at one time engaged to Nicole Richie. It is rumored that he was devastated about the recent breakup with his girlfriend.

He had joined up with drummer Travis Barker of Blink-182 to make the group trvsdjam. They were touring in September of 2008 and luckily they both survived a bad plane crash while returning from a show in South Carolina, that killed 2 of their good friends. Not much has been written since that crash until now.

Mandy Moore, who used to date DJ AM, gave this statement: "I am absolutely heartbroken. For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend. To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones."

I wonder what Nicole Ritchie is thinking?? Another senseless drug induced young death. Will they ever learn???

She is a dear friend and one I just know I would laugh with constantly, just like Lucy and Ethel. She has the most amazing eye and takes gorgeous photos, and if you have never been to her blog, I highly recommend that you head over there now, because you simply don't know what you are missing!!

Thinking of a Good Birthday Present...

I have been trying to come up with a good or even a great present for Steve's upcoming birthday. I haven't fully decided what I am going to get, but I really like the looks of this Bulova Watch!

They have so many nice Bulova chronograph watches that it is making it hard for me to make up my mind!! The main things that I like about this chronograph watch are that this is water and scratch resistant (something that is great for him) and I think that the silver with the black accents looks very stylish. I think this would be perfect!

He would love the fact that it has a 60 minute chronograph and a 24 hour and second hand subdial, with a date display too! He is into all that manly stuff about dials and readouts and such. I don't understand why you would want so many things on your watch, but most men's watches that I have seen do have all the bells and whistles on them. The hands on this watch are also iluminted, so he can see it in the dark, which is good for the nights he works.

This might be the one!

Pathwords Got Me Good!!

I was over at Facebook, playing one of my favorite games, Pathwords, which is kind of like Boggle, where you have to make words with letters that are connected, and this is the board I ended up with, with more than half the time left to play??? What the heck can I make from this???

I had already played about 5 games and kept getting loads of "V's" and "Q's" and "Z's" and I was getting frustrated, but I tried my best to make it work and make as many words as I could, and then the time would run out....

But seriously!! Come on?? I was only able to make 3 letter words till I finally ended up with this board!!

And I know I could make one more "zoo" on the right hand side, but I had already made 3 of them, and you don't get points for repeating words, so I just took the screenshot instead.

Do you play pathwords......and has this happened to you???

I Just Love Dollhouses!

I have loved dollhouses since I was a little girl. I used to have a dollhouse, but it was nothing fancy, it was just a basic dollhouse. And I never had enough furniture to put in it so it wasn't all that much fun to play with. I think if I could have used my creative juices and redecorated all the rooms (which I wasn't allowed to do) and had my pick of dollhouse accessories, I would have had an awesome dollhouse and would have played with it for hours on end.

I love going to Minna's Doll World, where she has loads of information and pictures of all sorts of doll houses and miniatures. I follow her site because I think deep down, I still yearn for that old dollhouse and wish I could have done more with it? Minna shows us all how much fun it is to to be collector and build and decorate doll houses.

I have another friend Pam who lives in South Carolina, and I remember she was making a doll house from scratch. And she kept me up to date with all the goings on and the remodeling and the decorating. She also works in polymer clay and made some amazing dishes and accessories with the clay for her doll house. She was another one that made me long for my old doll house.

I think that if I could do it all again, I would definitely have one of the best doll houses ever!! I love this little bathroom set that is made of porcelain in the delts pattern, and the commode even has an oak lid that lifts up! How cute is this? It comes with a bathtub, a cute pedestal sink, a toilet and a mirror. This little set would go into my bathroom for sure! There are also great looking cabinets and nightstands that would go lovely next to the four poster bed that I would just have to have!! And the kitchen would be equipped with only the finest appliances and the cutest little dishes.

Just thinking about all the fun I could have decorating a doll house now has me wanting to do it. There are just so many things available now, that I didn't have when I was a little girl. There is even customized wallpaper made to fit into the rooms! How easy is that? I really want to do this, but now I just have to find the time!
